EuRho® Vital Lutein 20 mg

EuRho® Vital Lutein 20 mg provides 20 mg lutein and 1.5 mg zeaxanthin per capsule.

Tagetes erecta florets –commonly also named marigold–  are especially rich in the natural orange-yellow carotenoid lutein and, in lower amounts, in zea-
xanthin, another carotenoid.

The use of tagetes erecta for medical purposes and as food dates back to prehispanic times. The plant is originally native to Mexico and thus also referred to as Mexican or Aztec marigold.
Lutein and zeaxanthin are also found in the human eye. There they are mainly present in the retina, especially in the macula lutea, the area where the eye can see the sharpest. As other carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin cannot be produced by the body, but are absorbed through food.
